The MWTC near Bridgeport, Calif., has begun teaching an advanced horsemanship training course in order to teach Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel the necessary skills to enable them to ride horses and move through terrain that can't be navigated by motor vehicles. Conditioned horses are able to travel more than 30 miles per day and can gallop at up to 40-miles per hour for short periods of time.
