Staff Sgt. Zachary Brown, a section sergeant within the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, emerges from a waist-deep ravine which he had to wade across in order to find one of his points during a land navigation course here, Sept. 26. The land navigation course was the culmination of three weeks of training and testing in four events, the purpose of which is to select only the best of the best to go to the U.S. Army Ranger School as a representative of the Spartans, in their attempt to earn the right to wear the Ranger tab.
