A group of military personnel in US Army ACU (Army Combat Uniform) camouflage are engaged in an outdoor physical training exercise on a grassy area near a road on what appears to be a military installation. One soldier on the right wearing a red sash or diagonal strap appears to be an instructor or cadre member overseeing the activity. The overcast sky and low light suggest early morning or evening training conditions.

Senior leadership within the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, perform the exercise “Air Squat” in repetition at Spartan Field here, Sept. 19. This was just one event of a 17-event, battle-focus oriented, team building, gut-checking, tactical physical training obstacle course directed to be established by the Spartan's command sergeant major, Command Sgt. Maj. Jefferson Moser, senior enlisted leader of the 2nd ABCT. Moser holds PT in very high regards, and sees it as a key to success in today’s Army. His message to current and future Spartans: “I charge you to continue to instill in the Spartan Brigade that PT is the foundation of your day -- get after it, and enjoy it!” (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Richard Wrigley, 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID, Public Affairs NCO)
