A veteran of the 442nd RCT, 87-year-old Tosh Okamoto, who fought with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during WWII, sits quietly watching the parade of colors as flag bearers assemble on Watkins Field for Patriot Day and the Massing of Colors on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Sept. 11. Okamoto is a member of the Nisei Veterans Committee, a group dedicated to the Japanese Americans that fought for the U.S. during the war.
