Col. Vernon H. Simpson, the North Carolina National Guard’s 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team commander, holds his Hall of fame plaque presented to him after being inducted into the Officers Candidate School Hall of Fame. The award was given to Simpson by Brig. Gen. Kenneth A. Beard, NCNG Assistant Adjutant General for Sustainment and the new commandant of the NCNG 139th Regiment at the John F.
