Exercise Yama Sakura 89 will occur primarily at Camp Itami, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and Camp Asaka, Tokyo, Japan. This is the largest joint and trilateral command post exercise (CPX) co-sponsored by U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) and will focus on the U.S.-JGSDF military-to-military relationship to strengthen cooperation and interoperability.
