New Horizons Dominican Republic 2016

New Horizons is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored joint humanitarian assistance exercise designed to provide humanitarian, dental and medical services to communities in need while demonstrating U.S. support for the Dominican Republic.



Commando Sling 16

Exercise Commando Sling 16 is a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Pacific command sponsored exercise conducted in the Republic of Singapore. The purpose of the exercise is to conduct combined dissimilar air combat training with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. The focus of this exercise is on tactical coordination and evaluation of air tactics, techniques and procedures.



Swift Response 16

More than 5,000 service members from 9 NATO nations - Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States - will take part in exercise Swift Response 16. The exercise is designed to evaluate the readiness of the U.S. Army's Global Response Force alongside high-readiness Allied forces.



Southern Floods 2016

National Guardsmen were activated to assist local and state authorities in the aftermath of record floods affecting Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas in March 2016.



Joint Readiness Training Center Rotation 16-06

The Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) provides U.S. military units and personnel with realistic pre-deployment training scenarios in all aspects of armed conflict. JRTC 16-06 involves the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division training with Alabama, Illinois, South Carolina and Georgia Army National Guard as the opposing force.



National Training Center Rotation 16-05

The National Training Center (NTC) provides U.S. military units and personnel with realistic pre-deployment training scenarios in all aspects of armed conflict. Rotation 16-05 involves U.S. Army 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division training with III Corps as the opposing force and the U.S. Air Force 7th Bomb Wing as air support.



SWCS Proficiency Jump

U.S. Army Paratroopers from the JFK Special Warfare Center (SWCS) participate in an airborne operation at the St. Mere Eglise Drop Zone on Fort Bragg, N.C., March 7, 2016. Paratroopers and Green Berets conducted a proficiency jump from a UH-60 Blackhawk to maintain their currency.
