On June 2, 2025, the Caisson Detachment began limited support to funeral services in Arlington National Cemetery (ANC). The initial phase supports two services a day and up to 10 services per week. A suitable interim stabling solution on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall is needed to support both ongoing renovations in the historic barns and undisrupted caisson conveyance and caparisoned horse missions in ANC. The interim stables house 26 horses and allows the Caisson Detachment to maintain two wagon squads and four caparison horses for the duration of their working period. The additional capacity offers the ability for the Caisson Detachment to increase support to ANC for a future increase from the initial two services per day.
