New York Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Paul Bialobok assists a FDNY Firefighter as they prepare to enter a confined space during search and extraction training during Operation Civil Support, the joint interagency training May 3 alongside members of the Fire Department of the city of New York. The daylong training exercise at the FDNY Fire Training Academy on Randall's Island involved the response to potential Hazardous Material or Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or High Explosive incident anywhere in the city of New York. The New York National Guard deployed and trained the state's 2nd Civil Support Team and CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package. Bialobok, a combat engineer with Company A, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion in Lockport, N.Y. provide search and rescue capabilities for the National Guard's CERFP response force.
