Members of the New York National Guard's 2nd Civil Support Team prepare members of the survey team to enter a potential Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or High Explosive incident area in support of emergency responders from the fire department of the city of New York during a joint interagency training event May 3 between the FDNY and the New York National Guard. The daylong training exercise involved the joint interagency response to potential CBRNE incident in the city. The New York National Guard deployed and trained the state's 2nd Civil Support Team and CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package to learn tactics, techniques and procedures from the FDNY. Responding fire departments from across the five boroughs participated in the training, providing a foundation for improved liaison and interoperability between New York State's military forces and the emergency responders in New York City. About 500 Soldiers, Airmen and volunteers of the New York Guard participated in the training. (U.S. Army photo/Lt. Col. Richard Goldenberg)
