U.S. Coast Guard Seaman Ian Butler, a surface rescue swimmer assigned to the Legend-class national security cutter USCGC Waesche (WMSL 751), shows the proper wear and use of rescue swimmer equipment to a member of the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency during a survival swimming and dive technique training event. The event is part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Malaysia 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
