The Illinois National Guard has had a strategically important State Partnership Program with the Polish military for more than 25 years. As part of the program The Adjutant General and other senior leaders visit Poland at least once a year. In 2019 that official senior leader visit took place in May. During the Illinois National Guard Senior Leader visit to the Polish Territorial Defense Forces, Maj. Gen. Wiesław Kukuła, the Commander of the Territorial Defense Force met with Brig. Gen. Richard Neely, The Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard. — in Warsaw, Poland.
