Marine from 1st Squad, 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment search a car in Ar Rutbah, Iraq after it failed to stop when driving towards their patrol, May 11. The Marines conduct security patrols in the city to disrupt insurgents' capabilities to communicate. These Marines are deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
