Pvt. Mosias A. Montero from 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment shakes hands with an Iraqi boy in Ar Rutbah, Iraq. The Alpha Co. Marines conduct security patrols in the city to show presence and disrupt insurgents' capabilities to communicate. These Marines are deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
