Sgt. Casey Ketchum, Spc. Jesse Jones, Spc. Roy Bartnick, all cavalry scouts, and Spc. Michael Ledford, a artillery forward observer, receive a task briefing from Staff Sgt. Matthew Dawson, an infantryman, during their unit's Spur Ride near Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Jan. 4 from which they earned their cavalry spurs. The soldiers are assigned to Alpha Troop of the 1st Squadron, 180th Cavalry Regiment of the Oklahoma Army National Guard from Ada, Okla., and have been deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation New Dawn since July 2011.
