María Binelia Deras, a teacher at Centro Escolar Canton here, leads her class of students as U.S. Army Guard soldiers construct a schoolhouse in the distance. The soldiers worked as partners in Beyond the Horizon 2011, a civic assistance and training exercise here. Deras said she was pleased that the U.S. military and Salvadoran army were working together to construct schoolhouses in the area.
