During a joint operation, Portland, Ore. native, Staff Sgt. James Malcolm (center), an artilleryman with Battery A, 1st Battalion talks to a local Iraqi man in Husayniyah, Iraq Jan. 30 about recent insurgent activity in the area that had been conducted in abandoned buildings which were being demolished as they spoke. Iraqi Army Soldiers and U.S. troops had the buildings demolished to prevent their further use by insurgents.
