Bricks and mortar fell when some abandoned buildings came down Jan. 30 in Husayniyah, Iraq after engineers with the 92nd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division knocked them down during a joint operation with Iraqi troops from the 5th Special Troops Company, 2nd Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Division (Mechanized) and Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment. Before the buildings came down, Iraqi and U.S. Soldiers cleared the area and conducted a cordon and search. The buildings, which had been used by terrorists as a place to store weapons and execute attacks, were torn down to prevent their further use by insurgents.
