An Iraqi air force flight engineer and aerial gunner speak during preparations for an Mi-171 helicopter night mission at Taji Air Base, near Baghdad, Iraq, July 12. The American aircrew on this mission is part of the 721st Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron, and assist the Iraqi air force with many functions, including night-vision goggle flights, a capability the Iraqis did not posses until nine months ago.
