Iraqi air force aircrew members prepare their night-vision goggles and helmets prior to an Mi-171 helicopter night mission at Taji Air Base, near Baghdad, Iraq, July 12. The American aircrew, also on this mission belongs to the 721st Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron, and assists the Iraqi air force with many functions, including night-vision goggle flights, a capability the Iraqis did not posses until nine months ago.
