U.S. Navy HMC Jose Melo checks a local Filipino for injuries during a subject matter expert exchange held during the build-up to Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) 15 in Palawan, Philippines, Sept. 18, 2014. The subject matter expert exchange allows the U.S. Navy medical and dental personnel teach CPR and proper dental care to teachers, students and local residents. PHIBLEX 15 is an annual, bilateral training exercise conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, U.S. Marines and Navy to strengthen interoperability across a range of capabilities to include disaster relief and contingency operations.
