U.S. Army Sgt. Charles Benson, best medic candidate, Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division gently places the foldable brace around the simulated casualties neck during the Patriot Brigades Best Medic assessment at Fort Polk’s Honor Field on Sept. 5, 2014. The Patriot Brigade’s best medic assessment is designed to select the best medical Soldiers to represent the BCT at the division level. The selected candidates will go on to compete at the Division level and possibly the Department of the Army.
