Runners line up to register for the Fourth Annual Midnight Madness 5k held Aug. 1 in Salado, Texas. More than a dozen Soldiers from the 3rd Cavalry Regiment participated in the event. The Village of Salado is the unit’s adopted city. “It’s great for us to have our partner unit involved because it keeps us connected to all the wonderful Soldiers on Fort Hood,” said Allyn Crain, co-chairman of the event and board member on the Salado Chamber of Commerce. “This is a wonderful community effort for our two organizations to take part in since there is a big retired military population within the people who live in our city.” (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
