U.S. and Republic of Korea Marines congratulate each other after a sports day July 19 at the 1st ROK Marine Division Base, Pohang, South Korea. This marked the first combined interaction between the U.S. and ROK Marine participants of Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-12. Each sport lasted an hour with the two teams comprised of competitors from both forces. KMEP 14-12 is a series of regularly scheduled bilateral exercises on the Korean Peninsula which provides bilateral training and enhances interoperability. The U.S. Marines are with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The ROK Marines are with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 1st ROK Marine Division.
