Marines with Force Reconnaissance Detachment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, move forward to engage their targets on the flight deck of the USS San Diego as part of close quarters tactics qualification training conducted during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 19, 2014. The 11th MEU and Amphibious Squadron 5 team conducts CERTEX to hone mission-essential tasks, execute specified MEU and Amphibious Ready Group operations, and certify the foundation of a cohesive warfighting team for exercises and operations they may encounter in their upcoming deployment.
