Marines and JGSDF members worked side by side building snow survival shelters after a six-kilometer hike. The bilateral exercise increases the Marines’ cold-weather survival skills. Miller is an infantryman with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program. Hirai is with 2nd Infantry Regiment, 12th Brigade, Eastern Army.
