Army Maj. Gen. Greg Lusk, adjutant general of North Carolina, throws out the first pitch of game nine of the 2013 American Legion Baseball World Series in Shelby, N.C., Aug. 18, 2013. This was the third day of the double-elimination series and was designated as the Military Appreciation Day for the event; veterans could attend day three for free and were presented with a baseball cap and challenge coin with the words "Thank You" inscribed on the back.
