Air Force Gen. Gregory M. Guillot assumes command of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command from Air Force Gen. Glen D. VanHerck at a ceremony Feb. 5, 2024, at Peterson Space Force Base, Colo. The official party consisted of Canadian Minister of National Defence, the Honorable Bill S. Blair; U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense, Kathleen H. Hicks; U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr.; Canadian Armed Forces Chief of the Defence Staff, Gen. Wayne D. Eyre; outgoing NORAD and USNORTHCOM Commander, Gen. Glen D. VanHerck, and incoming NORAD and USNORTHCOM commander, Gen. Gregory M. Guillot. More than 500 distinguished military, civilian, and local visitors as well as command staff attended the ceremony with hundreds more watching the live stream of the event.
