This year marks the 50th anniversary of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band first performing at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center. In honor of the occasion, the Marine Big Band performs as part of a weekend of celebratory performances. Under the direction of guest conductor Fred Radke of the Harry James Orchestra, the program will include classic big band favorites such as George Gershwin’s “Strike Up the Band” and Billy Strayhorn’s “Take the A Train.”
