Army Emergency Relief chief executive officer Michael A. Grinston, who formerly served as the 16th Sgt. Maj. of the Army visited U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria to kick off the AER Campaign in Tower Barracks, Germany, March. 4, 2026. Grinston is the first former enlisted Soldier to lead AER. AER provides financial services for active-duty soldiers and their families in the form of interest-free loans grants, and scholarships to assist in relieving financial distress.
