A KestrelX KX-2 aircraft flies over Alaska, posing as a stealth unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for U.S. Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Force fighter jets to intercept during ARCTIC EDGE 2026, March 3, 2026. Regular exercises remain critically important by allowing the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to complete Joint Force experimentation with cruise missile defense technologies in the Arctic. AE26 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
