KITTERY, Maine (Feb. 26, 2026) — After a comprehensive maintenance and modernization availability, the USS North Dakota (SSN 784) undocked safely from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on February 26, 2026. The Virginia-class attack submarine is one step closer to returning to the fleet.
Project Superintendent Andrew Stark shared his confidence in the team: "We are postured to deliver NORTH DAKOTA back to the fleet within the shortest post-undocking timeline ever accomplished here at PNSY for a Virginia Class availability.”
This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire shipyard team.
