Join NRCS Chief Aubrey J.D. Bettencourt as she “Dishes the Dirt” on how the agency is helping California almond growers Mike and Sandra Smith implement integrated pest management to protect their crop from pest damage. The two notably used hormone disruptors and other NRCS practices to combat navel orangeworms in their almond orchards, almost completely eliminating the infestation in their trees. The agency’s financial and technical assistance has helped the Smiths produce higher quality and more marketable almonds.
