    Department of War Southern Border

Staff Sgt. Jacob Desierto and Spc. Kevin Pao, combat engineers assigned to 350th Engineer Company, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Joint Task Force-Southern Border, operate a M1301 Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) during a patrol near Eagle Pass, Texas, Feb. 19, 2026. The ISV can rapidly move up to nine soldiers and their equipment across rough terrain, enhancing mobility over different landscapes. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
