Airmen and aircraft from the 182nd Airlift Wing, Illinois Air National Guard, recently joined international partners for Exercise Hussar Saber 25-4 to strengthen NATO’s Eastern flank. Training featured C-130H Hercules from the 169th Airlift Squadron and Poland’s 33rd Air Transport Base, alongside C-130J Super Hercules from the 37th Airlift Squadron, 86th Airlift Wing, out of Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The mission focused on advanced aerial maneuvers, including low-altitude airdrops and unimproved grass-strip landings, to ensure the joint force is prepared for high-intensity theater operations. The bilateral exercise is designed to build and maintain unit mission readiness and promote interoperability among active duty, Air National Guard, and Polish forces.
