February 11, day two of the 2026 Arizona Army National Guard (AZ ARNG) Best Warrior Competition, began with night and day Land Navigation. The competitors used only a pencil, map, compass, and protractor to find 10 points in the open desert of Florence Military Reservation, Florence, Ariz. They then transitioned to multiple ranges to demonstrate their skill with the M4 Carbine Rifle and the M-17 Pistol. The tactical skills of each competitor were on full display as the Best of the Best of the Arizona Army National Guard vied for the title of Arizona’s Best Warrior.
The technical expertise, tactical proficiency, critical thinking, adaptability, mental toughness, and resilience of the competitors of the annual AZ ARNG Best Warrior Competition were put to the test over three intense days of competition, highlighting the warrior spirit and lethality of the Soldiers of the AZ ARNG.
