U.S. Marines with Helicopter Company, Battalion Landing Team 3/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct close quarters combat training aboard the amphibious assault carrier USS Tripoli (LHA 7) in the Philippine Sea, Feb. 4, 2026. The Marines trained their situational awareness in a simulated fast paced, high stress environment. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
