    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Marines with Medium Marine Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, off-load ammunition from a MV-22 Osprey aircraft at Landing Zone Swan at Kin Blue Beach, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 31, 2026. Off-loading ammunition enables the rapid resupply of forward elements, increasing the unit’s ability to maintain operational tempo and mission readiness. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
