This video shows new work at the Segment 4 – Beltway 8 (BW8) Dredge Material Placement Area portion of the Houston Ship Channel (HSC) Expansion Channel Improvement Project, commonly known as Project 11. Project 11 is a multi-year, multi-phase expansion of the HSC. The project involves widening the channel and deepening certain upstream segments to improve safety and efficiency for larger commercial vessels. BW8 is a 340-acre placement area, where some dredge material from Project 11 will be placed. The expansion project is designed to enhance the region's economy and improve maritime navigation.
