Members of the 115th Military Police Company conduct nonlethal certification training, gaining firsthand experience with both the Taser X26 and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray., Aug. 1, 2025, Camp Fogarty, R.I. Through classroom instruction, hands-on drills, and controlled exposure, Soldiers learned the capabilities, limitations, and proper application of these tools. While non-lethal, the tools can cause serious injury if used improperly, making this training critical to ensure MPs are skilled, disciplined, and confident in their use. The training prepares MPs to deescalate dangerous situations while minimizing harm, ensuring they can protect the public with professionalism, restraint, and confidence—whether at home or abroad—while maintaining readiness to support civil authorities in times of crisis.
