U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) took command of Combined Joint Task Force - 76 to lead a multinational coalition force in Kabul, Afghanistan, March 24, 2005. Among its key elements was the 173rd Airborne Brigade, which conducted combat operations in southeastern Afghanistan. During its year-long leadership, CJTF-76 carried out 260 offensive operations as well as numerous construction, humanitarian and medical missions. SETAF-AF played a pivotal role by establishing partnerships with the Afghan National Army and National Police, ensuring all operations were planned and executed alongside Afghan forces. After a year in command, SETAF-AF transferred authority to the 10th Mountain Division. This video showcases the joint task force capabilities of SETAF-AF and is part of a series of products to commemorate the command's 70th birthday. (U.S. Army video by Brian Andries)
