The South Platte Ranger District and the Pikes Peak Ranger District conduct an invasive weed spraying project in the Lost Creek Wilderness near Craig Meadows, Colorado, August 10, 2024. In partnership with the Friends of Mount Evans and Lost Creek Wildernesses and Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, crews treated infestations of musk thistle, Canada thistle, yellow toadflax, and orange hawkweed. These operations support forest health by protecting native plant communities and water resources from nonnative invasive species. (Forest Service video by Josh Cowden)
