U.S. Marines with Road Platoon, Alpha Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 15, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), conduct road improvement operations and vegetation clearance in National Defense Area 4 in Yuma, Ariz., Nov. 5, 2025. Road improvement significantly enhances U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Border Patrol’s mobility and response times to interdict unlawful crossings. Vegetation clearance supports the emplacement of National Defense Area signs and their visibility to ensure trespassers are able to read them. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
