U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Meredith DeLong, the executive officer of Recruiting Station Albuquerque, 8th Marines Corps District, speaks about the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps scholarship program and the benefits that the program has to offer in Albuquerque, N.M. on Oct. 27, 2025. The purpose of the NROTC Program is to educate and train qualified men and women with the fighting spirit to serve as commissioned officers. As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the NROTC Scholarship Program plays an important role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership positions in an increasingly technical Marine Corps.
