U.S. Marines with Marine Air Control Group 18 Detachment,31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense competition on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 24, 2025. The Marines conducted the CBRN nuclear defense competition to test their readiness to survive and operate in simulated unknown hazardous environments. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
