U.S. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Platoon, Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Force, conduct static line jumps and freefall jumps from an MV-22B Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 265 (Rein.), 31st MEU, during parachute operations training over Ie Shima Training Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Sep. 18, 2025. The Marines conducted the training to maintain and improve their aerial insertion skills. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
