U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 1st Air Support Operations Group from Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash., and U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 4th Quartermaster Company, 725th Brigade Support Battalion (Airborne), 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 11th Airborne Division, conduct a joint airborne operation at the Malamute Drop Zone on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 26, 2025. The joint operation brought together various units supporting the Indo-Pacific mission in complex environments. The units participating were the 1st Combat Weather Squadron located at JBLM, riggers from the 4th Quartermaster Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Air Support Operations Squadron and the Alaska National Guard stationed at JBER. Airborne training allows Soldiers and Airmen to maintain their proficiency and readiness to conduct airborne operations in Alaska, the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
