Army Reserve Cpt. Katherine Bostick discusses the importance of mental health during Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Healthy Broome in Binghamton, New York, August 15, 2025. Bostick comes from the 327th Combat Operational Stress Control Detachment, based at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and is participating in Healthy Broome to assist in providing mental health outreach, education and assistance to the residents of Broome County. She emphasized how resilience and well-being strengthen Soldiers’ mission readiness while supporting mental health awareness and treatment with the community guests. Innovative Readiness Training is a Department of Defense (DoD) program which provides no-cost healthcare and other essential services to underserved communities while giving service members valuable hands-on training. The Healthy Broome event connected service members with residents in need of care, building stronger ties between the DoD and the communities it serves. (U.S. Army Reserve video by Sgt.
