U.S. Soldiers assigned to the 338th Harbor Master Operational Detachment, 743th and 466th Seaport Opening Company, conduct port opening operations during Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) at Port Mackenzie, Alaska, Aug. 6, 2025. The port opening operations serve as a proof of concept for the mobilization of equipment in austere environments. AE25 is a North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
