U.S. Airmen assigned to the 165th Civil Engineer Squadron, Georgia Air National Guard, start their two week innovation readiness training (IRT) in Waianae Hawaii, June 30, 2025. The unit supported the construction of an affordable housing development on Oahu’s west side, designed to assist individuals transitioning out of houselessness. These Department of Defense led missions connect military units with real-world projects across the U.S. and its territories. These trainings provide essential services to underserved communities while giving service members valuable, hands-on experience that simulates deployment conditions.
